리소스 그룹은 장애가 발생했을 때에 페일오버 되는 리소스의 집합을 말합니다.
MCCS는 노드 간의 페일오버를 그룹 단위로 수행합니다. 따라서 페일오버가 되는 단위로 리소스들을 묶어 그룹으로 만들어야 합니다.
또한 하나의 클러스터에는 여러 개의 그룹을 생성할 수 있습니다.

When click ESC key while adding a group, this process is cancelled.
Therefore, please note not to press ESC key during this process.

Adding Resource Group

  1. To add a group, select 'group name → right click → Add Group' from configuration tree.
    Or select 'Edit(E) → Add Group' from main menu.

  2. If you select 'Add Group', you will see the initial group wizard.

    In the wizard, enter a group name and select the nodes from Available Nodes list and move to Target target Nodes list by clicking allow.

    If you select only one node from Available nodes list, then single node group will be created.
    If you add this, a group is not able to perform failover in case of failure.

    (If you have selected a single node cluster in the installation step, only one node will be displayed in the Available nodes list.)

  3. Click Additional Settings to choose group type as failover or parallel. This option will be disabled for single node group.

    Failover group failover from active to standby node when failure occurs. 
    Parallel group is configured with the resources that can be executed on more than 2 nodes at the same time.
    Parallel group does not support failover, but restart the service when it is failed in local node.

     

  4. Designate a group policy and configure an application.
    For more on how to add each resource, refer to the below link.
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Applications in "7.4. Applications".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Process in "7.3 Process".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Windows service  in "7.7 Service".

    If there is something wrong with the added resource, you can press the X mark to delete it.
    You can change the online/offline order of added resources by pressing the arrow icon.

  5. Configure the network related resource.
    For more on how to add each resource, refer to the below link. 
    Refer to the descriptions of adding a NIC in “7.1 Network Interface Card".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding a IP in "7.2 IP Address".

    Before add an IP resource, you must add a NIC resource in advance.

  6. Configure the disk related resource.
    For more on how to add each resource, refer to the below link. 
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Shared Disk  in "7.5 Shared Disk"
    Refer to the descriptions of adding SCSI Lock in "7.8 SCSI Lock". 
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Mirror Disk in "7.6 Mirror Disk".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Shared Disk DR in "7.11 Shared Disk DR".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding Mirror Disk DR in "7.12 Mirror Disk DR".
    Refer to the descriptions of adding DRBD9 Mirror disk in "7.13 DRBD9 Mirror Disk".

  7. Once you have added all the resources using adding group wizard, it will suggest a dependency among resources by MCCS automatically.
    If you want to edit the dependency, select the Palette in the right tab and change it.

  8. After configure the dependency, check the summary of the group and resources information and press the 'Finish' button to add a group.

Deleting

To delete a group, first make sure that there are existing online resources in a group.
If there is an existing resource online, terminate or delete it.

  1. To delete group, select Select Group - Right Click - Delete Group. 
    If one or more than one of the resources is online state, a message shown below will appear.


  2. If one or more than one of the resources is online state, a message shown below will be appeared.
    Offline the group first before deleting it.

  3. If the mirror disk is included in the group, a message asking whether you want to delete replication configuration. 

    If you click "OK" button, mirror set between source and target will also deleted. But when you click "Cancel', mirror set will be remained and only mirror disk resource will be only deleted.
