Release Note - MCCS Version 4.1

Bugs Fixing

  • [MCCSKEY-3727] - The problem with the invisible "Split Brain Resolve" menu in the resource dependency tab when a mirror disk split occurs has been resolved.  
  • [MCCSKEY-3729] - The problem with the duplicate start of the MCCS engine has been resolved by the fast engine detection of MCCS agent service. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3750] - The problem with failures to remove the "Password" attribute in the attribute window in complex application resource has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3823] - The failover problem in case of system failures occurred when the mirror disk condition of two nodes is source to source has been resolved.  
  • [MCCSKEY-3846] - The problem with offline detection after registration when there is a space in the network card name has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3848] - The problem with being unable to turn off the virtual IP address for a node while the same virtual IP address goes online in the both nodes has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3855] - The problem with a local node stopping at REMOTE_BUILD when there occurs an exception in the SCSI-LOCK resource message has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3886] - The problem with failures to wait for OfflineTimeout when demote is failed and the massage saying ”Device is held open by someone” is displayed has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3894] - The problem with being stuck offline if it tries to go offline when the upper resource is online has been resolved. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3975] - The problem with failures for a group to go online when a standby node fails to go online after detecting a node failure has been resolved. 

Enhancements 

  • [MCCSKEY-2693] - The mirror disk resource icons in Windows and Linux have been integrated. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3436] - The LastSource judgement logic for mirror disk resource has been changed. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3439] - User account management has been added to MCCS CLI. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3498] - MCCS VxVM resource(Symantec Veritas Volume Manager Agent) has been newly added.
  • [MCCSKEY-3504] - In the past, you needed to inquire about the cluster information in the DB. Now, you can directly obtain the information from RMI and process it. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3573] - An event related with Split-Brain has been newly added to Linux. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3561] - Dependency has been separated into mandatory and optional dependency by attribute reference in group wizard and the dependency configuration method has been defined. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3570] - When creating the mirror resource, an option to select "auto split brain resolve" has been added. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3580] - The log output has been changed from text string to binary. The log is output in the language according to the user's UI setting. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3677] - The system information(msinfo32) is extracted additionally when you extract a support file in Windows 2008 or higher. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3691] - RMIConnectionTimeout max value has been changed from 10 sec to 12 sec. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3710] - In the past, only the secondary IP address could be used for downloading the support file, but now the IP address accessed from the MCCS web console can be used. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3716] - Now, the logout message has been displayed when you log out. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3775] - Dependency page of online node has been displayed first when accessing the console. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3777] - The function for linked resource type designation has been added to the resource. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3815] - The popup view function of the system attribute has been newly added to the resource attribute. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3831] - The engine occupying the IP address can process the command by assigning the IP option of the CLI command.  
  • [MCCSKEY-3884] - The max java heap memory size used by MCCS has been changed from 64MB to 128MB. 
  • [MCCSKEY-3586] - The IP address used in the IP resource is not displayed when you change the mirror network address.  
  • [MCCSKEY-3912] - MCCS Support download logic is now downloadable in the Jetty resource folder.  
  • [MCCSKEY-4113] - The AutoReStart logic has been changed. 

Added and changed features

  • Veritas Volume Manager Agent(VxVM resource) has been newly added to MCCS. 
  • Shared disk-DR Agent(shared disk DR resource) has been newly added to MCCS. 
  • Oracle DataBase Agent has been newly added to MCCS.
  • Oracle Listener Agent has been newly added to MCCS. 
  • MCCS supports SSL.  
  • CLI that allows to manage user account has been newly added to MCCS. 
  • MCCS no longer uses HSQL. Thus, any kind of commands is sent through RMI.  
  • The default port number for MCCS has been changed. The default port used in 4.1 is from 14321 - 14323. The default web console port remains unchanged as 10080.  
  • The function for linked resource type designation has been newly added to group and resource wizards in MCCS.
  • MCCS only uses bash shells in Linux. 
  • MCCS includes DataKeeper 8.2.1 and 7.7. 

 

Known issues

  • If Internet Explorer 8 is installed in the Chinese version of Windows Server 2008 R2, the Help menu is not displayed properly. After upgrading to Internet Explorer 9, the help menu is displayed properly.
  • If a NIC fault occurs in Windows 2008 or higher, the VIP resource fault may occur(IP removed) due to the restrictions in the OS. To avoid this issue, you should set the ToleranceLimit of VIP resource to higher than NIC.
  • Shared disk resource of Linux does not support multi paths. 
  • If you use a chrome browser for the MCCS web console, and activate the "Hardware Acceleration" for it, sometimes the resource dependency page is not displayed properly. Thus, you must deactivate the "Hardware Acceleration" to resolve this problem.
