7.3 Process.


It is managed user defined process which is a program of single process(e.g. notepad.exe, cal.exe).
Name of an executable binary and process resides memory should be identical.
Executable Process should be resided in all the nodes with the same path, and does not need to be resided in the same path as the mirror disk or shared disk.
Process basically is executed with the system account, but is can be executed with particular user by using attributes of User, Password, Domain.

Adding

Add the process resource to a group.

  1. When add a resource from a group name, select a group → right click → "Add Resource". Or select "Edit(E)" from the main menu bar → select "Add Resource". Or select "Add Resource" icon from the tool bar.

  2. Select "Process" from Resource Type lists and click the "Next" button. When add a resource from the Process resource type name, this step will be skipped.
  3. Enter the resource name and process name with full path or click the  to explore the path.

    The default "Execution Account" of the process resource is "Account running MCCS".
    If the resource runs specified account, you can select "Specify Account" and enter account information such as domain, user account and password.

  4. As an additional setting, you can select desktop option and forced to terminate option and click the "OK" button.

  5. Click the 'Finish' button to add the process resource.

Deleting

Select "Resource type" → right click → delete resource.

State

The following table explains the state of process resource.

Monitoring

Detects regularly a process whether it is running on memory or not.

It doesn't check about process' internal status of operation or about normal response. Monitors by checking operating status through using the process' name which includes PID, an ID of the process, and an absolute path.


Offline

A process has been stopped.

Online

Runs a program which designated on the Path attribute of the single-process.

This Path attribute indicates an absolute path of a program existing on the system.

The example are shown as follows, if using 'notepad.exe' or configuring the program 'readme.txt' as a default agent of the single-process:

When an onlined process has not taken offline through offline command, it is defined as fault.

It is the program argument. 
More than one factor must use at least one space as an identifier. When spaces are included in the factor, double quotation marks(". ") must be used.

It specifies the domain of user. It will be ignored if user name is not specified.

if this value is inserted as True, it will try normal termination. If termination did not executed, it will be terminated forcibly after the time set in offlinetimeout.

Note that application has no limit in standby.

It is the password defined by the user.
If user name is no specified, it is ignored.

It defines the path name of the program file. If this value is invalid, resource cannot be used.

It is a work directory. it means %MCCS_HOME% if it does not have a input value.

It is the user name which has received the permission to use the process. 
It is MCCS service account if there is no input value.

Specified attribute values are normally entered when add the resource, This value can be edited or viewed through 'Specified Attribute' table in the Resource Attributes tab on the detailed information panel.


MCCS has function to limit input values against user's input field, and it provides function detects automatically data which is input wrong by user's mistake.
