2.2. Replication Target

FSR synchronizes the data and attributes of the file and replicates for all incremental I/O, including writes to the file(some attributes are optional). However, file attributes that depend on the operating environment such as file access time, offline, reparse, or special file attributes cannot be copied.

And before configuring replication, you should be aware of the following:

  • System files in use by the operating system should not be replicated.
  • You should not allow applications to open files replicated to the target. To do this, FSR provides target file protection, which is optional.
  • Before you replicate to the target directory, you should verify that other data in the target directory is not overwritten. For example, users should be careful not to overwrite directories used by the system (Windows, Program Files, /bin, /etc, /mnt, etc.).
  • Normally hidden files, read-only files, files or directories used by the system should not be replicated.

  • No labels
